Cloverfield was one of the first horror movies I watched in the cinema and its mysterious marketing campaign made it a thrilling watch. 10 Cloverfield Lane was a better film; tense and brilliantly acted and a great lesson in how to write a low-budget psychological thriller. So, when I learned that The Cloverfield Paradox had … Continue reading The Cloverfield Paradox Movie Review
Well, it's taken a few weeks to review every episode of Season 4, but we made it through together and here are my thoughts on the final episode. Here, the writing team decided to revisit the format of my personal favourite episode, White Christmas, and tell three stories within a story. Did it work as … Continue reading Black Mirror: Black Museum Review (Spoilers!)
For many, this episode has been described as the weakest of Season 4. I liked it, and enjoyed it a lot more than Hang The DJ which fell very flat for me, but I can see its problems. As with most Black Mirror episodes, we are presented here by a collection of morally grey characters. We are initially supposed to feel sympathy for Daly, who is unappreciated and socially awkward, but we later find that, given power, he is really quite repulsive.
SERIOUSLY, I CANNOT REVIEW THIS FILM WITHOUT REVEALING MAJOR SPOILERS, BUT IF YOU'VE COME HERE TO SEE IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT OR NOT, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO! Mother! is a psychological horror film written and directed by Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for A Dream, Black Swan) and starring Jennifer Lawrence and Javier … Continue reading Mother! Movie Review
